Ireland · Labour Market Needs Test

Offer the job to jobseekers in Ireland and across the EEA

The Labour Market Needs Test is how you show the job was offered to jobseekers in Ireland, the EEA and Switzerland. We are the second online platform it requires: a public page anyone can open, dated and left unchanged for the full window, ready to file with your permit application.

  • 28 continuous days, never amended
  • Permanent dated URL for the permit file
  • Live on the day your JobsIreland notice starts

Your advert goes live here on the same day as your JobsIreland notice, so send it at least one working day before that notice starts: the two adverts must run jointly for at least 28 days, and a later start here leaves less than that.

What the rules ask for

To apply for a General Employment Permit, an employer must advertise the vacancy with the Department of Social Protection Employment Services and EURES for 28 continuous days and, separately, on at least one other online platform.

The wording in S.I. No. 444/2024, Regulation 9(2)(b) is:

one or more other online platforms accessible to the general public, the principal purpose of which is to publish offers of employment

There is no register or accreditation of such platforms.

Regulation 9(7)(b) then asks for copies of the notice as published, and the advertisement may not be amended or extended during those 28 days.

How it works

  1. Send us the vacancy

The employer’s legal name (as on the employment contract, even if an agency places the advert), job title and work location, the minimum annual salary in euro (not an hourly rate), hours of work per week, the full advert text as on JobsIreland, how candidates apply (link or email) and the day your JobsIreland notice starts. One email, no account to create.

  2. We publish it and freeze it

The advert goes live on a permanent public URL and stays untouched for the full 28 days. No edits, no re-dating, no expiry inside the window.

  3. You file the dated page

We send you the link on the day the advert goes live. The page shows the publication date, so printing it to PDF gives you the copy Regulation 9(7)(b) asks for.

What your advert looks like

Every advert gets its own public page with the publication date printed on it. That page is what you attach to the permit application.

What you get

  • Your vacancy published for 28 continuous days and left untouched for the whole window, as the rules require.
  • A permanent public page showing the publication date, ready to save as PDF for the permit file.
  • The advert in front of people who actually need sponsorship. In the 28 days to 22 September 2026, Irish vacancies quoting a permit salary threshold appeared in the personal job feeds of 868 registered candidates on this site: 11271 feed entries across 644 of those 696 vacancies.
  • Thresholds we recognise, as set by S.I. No. 643/2025 with effect from 1 March 2026 and checked against the Department of Enterprise, Tourism and Employment on 22 September 2026: €36,605 general, €32,691 for home carers, meat processing and horticulture, €34,009 for recent Irish graduates.

How far one advert actually reaches

The same measurement, broken down. Over the 28 days to 22 September 2026, across all 696 Irish permit-threshold vacancies on the site, the same window your Labour Market Needs Test runs for.

These are entries into candidates’ personal job feeds, not applications. We report reach; we do not promise applications, and no advertising platform honestly can. What this product guarantees is the compliant, dated publication your permit file needs.

What this is not

  • We do not replace the mandatory JobsIreland and EURES notice. Ours is the additional platform, not a substitute for the first one.
  • We are not an employment agency. We publish adverts, we do not supply candidates and we do not forward CVs.
  • We never charge candidates for placement or for applying to your vacancy. Charging jobseekers for placement is an offence across the EU.
  • We do not decide whether your application succeeds. The Department of Enterprise, Tourism and Employment assesses the permit; our part is the publication and the evidence of it.

For recruitment agencies

Hiring workers from outside the EU? Publish your vacancies where those candidates already look

Agencies in Poland, Czechia, Slovakia and other EU countries can publish their vacancies here for 30 days. On October 19, 2026, 2,048 registered candidates with an uploaded CV told us they need a work permit to work in the EU.

  • Each vacancy goes into the personal job feeds of candidates whose profile matches the role.
  • Candidates apply directly to you, through your link or email. We do not pass on CVs. For candidates, job search, matched vacancies and applying are free; only optional AI tools and the templates and guides in our store are paid.
  • After 30 days you receive a report for each vacancy: how many candidates had it in their feed, how many times its page was viewed, and how many clicks from that page went to your link or email for applying.
  • A new agency publishes its first 3 vacancies outside Ireland free for 30 days.

After the free period: €79 per vacancy for 30 days, €300 for 5 vacancies or €900 for 20. Prices in euro, exclusive of any VAT that applies. We invoice once the vacancies are live, not before.

Questions employers ask

Does this site qualify as the "other online platform"?
S.I. No. 444/2024, Regulation 9(2)(b) asks for a platform accessible to the general public whose principal purpose is to publish offers of employment. That is what this site is and all it is. There is no register or accreditation of qualifying platforms, so no one can hand you a certificate: the Department of Enterprise, Tourism and Employment assesses the evidence you file. What we can give you is a public, dated, unedited page for the full window.
Do I still have to advertise with the Employment Services and EURES?
Yes. That notice is mandatory and we do not replace it. The second platform is an additional requirement on top of it, and that is the one we cover.
Can the advert be changed or extended while it runs?
No, and we will not let it be. The rules say the advertisement may not be amended or extended during the 28 days, so once it is live we freeze it. If the role genuinely changes, the correct answer is a new advert and a new 28-day window.
What evidence do I get for the application?
A permanent public URL with the publication date printed on the page. Print or save it to PDF and it is the copy of the notice as published that Regulation 9(7)(b) asks for. The page stays reachable after the window closes.
Which salary thresholds do you recognise?
The three set by S.I. No. 643/2025 with effect from 1 March 2026: €36,605 general, €32,691 for home carers, meat processing and horticulture, and €34,009 for recent graduates of Irish institutions. A vacancy quoting any of them is flagged on the site as one where a work permit route is realistic.
How many applications will I get?
We do not promise any, and you should distrust anyone who does. What we measure and report is reach: over the 28 days to 22 September 2026, a typical Irish permit-threshold advert on this site entered 10 candidate feeds, the average was 16 and the best single advert reached 168. This product exists to make the publication requirement compliant and provable, not to fill the role.
What does it cost?
€79 for one advert over the full 28 days, €300 for five and €900 for twenty, which is how agencies filing permits for several clients usually buy. We invoice once the advert is live: if for any reason we cannot publish it, there is nothing to pay.
Do you publish outside Ireland?
Yes. The site carries live vacancies across 16 European markets, and an advert on it is public wherever you are hiring. But Ireland is the one country whose rules oblige an employer to publish on a second platform, so it is the one where this is a compliance product rather than ordinary advertising.

Send us the vacancy

Email us the employer’s legal name, job title and location, minimum annual salary, hours per week, the full advert text, how candidates apply and the day your JobsIreland notice starts. We will confirm that date, publish on it and send you the link that day. One advert is €79 for the full 28 days; agencies filing permits for several clients take the package price.

Your advert goes live here on the same day as your JobsIreland notice, so send it at least one working day before that notice starts: the two adverts must run jointly for at least 28 days, and a later start here leaves less than that.
