What the rules ask for
To apply for a General Employment Permit, an employer must advertise the vacancy with the Department of Social Protection Employment Services and EURES for 28 continuous days — and, separately, on at least one other online platform.
The wording in S.I. No. 444/2024, Regulation 9(2)(b), is "one or more other online platforms accessible to the general public, the principal purpose of which is to publish offers of employment". There is no register or accreditation of such platforms.
Regulation 9(7)(b) then asks for copies of the notice as published, and the advertisement may not be amended or extended during those 28 days.

- Does this site qualify as the "other online platform"?
- Regulation 9(2)(b) asks for a platform accessible to the general public whose principal purpose is to publish offers of employment. That is what this site is and all it is. There is no register or accreditation of qualifying platforms, so no one can hand you a certificate — the Department assesses the evidence you file. What we can give you is a public, dated, unedited page for the full window.
- Do I still have to advertise with the Employment Services and EURES?
- Yes. That notice is mandatory and we do not replace it. The second platform is an additional requirement on top of it, and that is the one we cover.
- Can the advert be changed or extended while it runs?
- No, and we will not let it be. The rules say the advertisement may not be amended or extended during the 28 days, so once it is live we freeze it. If the role genuinely changes, the correct answer is a new advert and a new 28-day window.
- What evidence do I get for the application?
- A permanent public URL with the publication date printed on the page. Print or save it to PDF and it is the copy of the notice as published that Regulation 9(7)(b) asks for. The page stays reachable after the window closes.
