A Day in the Life An Occupational Therapist at Munson Healthcare seeks to maximize a patient's functional independence and safety in the home environment. The occupational therapist is required to complete a thorough assessment for each patient relating to their functional status, activities of daily living, coordination, home assessment and other needs as determined by their medical condition. An individualized plan of care is developed and revised for each patient as appropriate to their rehabilitative needs. Teaching compensatory strategies, caregiver training, implementing adaptive equipment and utilizing sensory integration techniques are a few of the methods regularly utilized by the occupational therapist to support patients in meeting their goals.…
