Own the design of motors and other electric machines for X-BAT and other next gen aircraft Design sub-systems and components including wound field motor, permanent magnet motor, and motor mechanical structural components Integrate designs with the aircraft structure, engine, power electronics, and thermal system Create detailed 3D CAD models and 2D drawings of electro-mechanical designs at a component and motor sub-system level Release detailed work instructions and documentation in close collaboration with manufacturing Execute hands on testing and full qualification on a representative dyno, engine test stand, and full aircraft Perform noise and vibration testing on components for motors and power electronics, including vehicle powertrain and thermal systems REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 5+…
