About this job

Responsible for the safe operation and repair of all systems onboard the vessel. It is the duty of the Chief Engineer to keep himself and the Master fully informed and adhere to all relevant national and governing laws, regulations, company policies, and directives affecting the operation of the vessel. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES: Have a complete working knowledge of diesel engines and controls, Gen sets and controls, HVAC and controls, hydraulic systems, piping and steel fitting, welding, brazing, sweating, soldering, pump operation and repair, shipboard electrical systems, basic electronics, and pneumatic systems. Ability to perform duties as outlined by the vessel Station Bill. Train, coordinate, and supervise engine room team members.…
