🚀 We’re Hiring: Senior Embedded Software Engineer / Embedded Software Expert (1-2 Year fixed term contract) Hykmann Global Business Solutions AB is looking for an experienced Embedded Software Engineer for a challenging consulting assignment within the automotive industry. We are seeking a senior technical specialist with strong expertise in embedded software development, system engineering, and functional development. The ideal candidate combines deep technical knowledge with system-level thinking, technical leadership, and the ability to drive quality and successful deliveries across complex automotive projects. 🔧 About the Role You will take an active role in the development of embedded software applications, from requirements analysis and software design to implementation, testing, and verification. You will lead system engineering activities within a technical team, coordinate contributions from multiple stakeholders, and ensure that software deliveries meet quality standards and are ready for release. The role also involves contributing to early development phases, shaping technical roadmaps, influencing engineering practices across teams and sites, and supporting organizational competence development. 💻 Key Responsibilities Break down functional requirements and translate them into software designs, technical documentation, and implementation plans. Develop, implement, test, and verify embedded software applications. Provide technical leadership and guide system engineering activities within the team. Integrate software deliveries from multiple contributors and ensure quality and release readiness. Contribute to early-stage development, technical roadmaps, and long-term engineering strategies. Collaborate across organizational functions and development sites to drive alignment and technical excellence. Coach, mentor, and support the professional development of other engineers. Contribute to product ownership, business development, and the continuous improvement of engineering capabilities. Skills & requirements 🎯 Required Skills & Experience Typically 10+ years of relevant professional experience in embedded software development or a closely related technical domain. Strong expertise in embedded software applications and automotive system engineering. Experience across the software development lifecycle, including requirements breakdown, design, implementation, testing, and verification. Proven ability to lead technical activities, coordinate deliveries, and ensure high-quality software releases. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to address complex technical challenges. Experience mentoring engineers, sharing knowledge, and providing technical guidance. Ability to connect technical solutions with product strategy, business objectives, and industry trends. A strong T-shaped technical profile, combining deep expertise in a specialist domain with broader engineering knowledge. ⚙️ Relevant Technical Domains Experience in one or more of the following areas is highly relevant: Vehicle Systems and HMI Combustion Engines and Engine Aftertreatment Electromobility Powertrain Control Control Theory Mechatronics Automotive Diagnostics 🌟 What Makes This Opportunity Special?
