About this opportunity: Are you a curious newly graduated software professional eager to help build the Baseband Software powering today's 5G networks and tomorrow's 6G innovations? We are looking for Baseband Developers (L1) at the beginning of their careers to join our team in Lund. As part of an agile development team, you will work across the full software lifecycle, from early studies and feature development to testing, delivery, customer acceptance, and maintenance of existing products. What you will do: Your focus will be on the Physical Layer (L1) of Ericsson's Baseband Software, a key component of our industry-leading 5G Radio Access Network (RAN) solutions and a foundation for future 6G technologies. You will: - Design, develop, and maintain high-quality baseband software using C/C++ and Python. - Study, implement, and verify new features for 5G networks while contributing to future 6G solutions. - Solve complex technical challenges in a real-time embedded software environment. - Utilize AI and Agentic AI tools to enhance software development, debugging, testing, analysis, and engineering productivity. - Evaluate, validate, and responsibly apply AI-generated solutions while maintaining high standards of quality, security, and engineering excellence. - Collaborate in a diverse, cross-functional, and multicultural team with experienced engineers across the organization. - Continuously learn, innovate, and contribute to world-class mobile network products. The skills you bring: - MSc degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Wireless Communications, or a related field. - Strong interest in embedded software and real-time systems. - Solid programming skills in C/C++ and Python. - Analytical thinking and strong problem-solving abilities. - Curiosity, initiative, and a passion for technology. - Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment. - Interest in modern engineering practices, including AI-powered development tools and Agentic AI workflows. We also value knowledge or experience in: - 4G/5G wireless communication systems and 3GPP standards. - Digital signal processing (DSP) and embedded software development. - Multi-core DSP programming and real-time systems. - Linux development environments. - Python scripting and automation. - AI-assisted software development, testing, debugging, and code generation. - Evaluation and validation of AI-generated code and solutions. You are eager to learn, open to new challenges, and motivated by solving complex problems. You enjoy working in a team, broadening your expertise, and exploring new technologies. You see AI and Agentic AI as valuable engineering tools that can drive innovation and productivity, while understanding the importance of critical thinking, engineering judgment, quality, and security.
