The simulators that train tomorrow's surgeons need the right parts, from the right partners, at the right time. That's where you come in. Surgical Science builds medical simulation technology used in operating rooms and training centers worldwide. Behind every haptic feedback device and surgical simulator is a supply chain that has to be as precise as the products themselves. As our Sourcing Lead for EU and Americas, you'll own the supply chain for your region — building the supplier relationships and strategies that keep our production running and our quality standards uncompromised. This is a senior role based at our headquarters in Gothenburg, Sweden, and you'll be a key part of our Operations leadership team. You'll lead and work closely with colleagues in R&D, Production, and operations across multiple markets. What you'll actually do Design and execute regional sourcing strategies that balance cost, quality, and supply security across EU and non-APAC markets Build and manage long-term supplier relationships — from initial qualification to ongoing performance management and contract negotiations Drive supplier performance, holding partners accountable to our delivery, quality, and cost targets Lead supplier diversification and risk mitigation initiatives, ensuring we're never dependent on a single source for critical components Ensure all procurement activity complies with our policies and supports our quality management standards Collaborate cross-functionally with production, engineering, and finance to align sourcing decisions with business priorities Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement without compromising on quality Travel globally to meet suppliers and establish long-term relationships What you need to bring 5–8 years of procurement or sourcing experience, ideally in a manufacturing or hardware-focused environment Proven track record in supplier negotiations and relationship management — you know how to get to yes and how to make partnerships last Strong analytical skills: you can translate supplier data and market signals into smart sourcing decisions Experience or strong enthusiasm with shaping processes, structures, and ways of working in a newly established or developing organization Ability and drive to establish new ways of working (structure, processes) Clear, confident communicator — in writing and in conversation — in English (Swedish is a plus, not a must) Comfortable working across time zones and with suppliers in multiple countries Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable adopting procurement tools Availability to travel frequently (primarily Europe, but travels outside of Europe may also be necessary) Even better if you have Background in medical devices, electronics, or complex hardware/software product companies Experience with supplier qualification processes in regulated industries Familiarity with supply chain risk frameworks and contingency planning Experience managing or leading a team Where this can take you This role sits at the intersection of operations and business strategy — and it grows with you.
