About this job
Within ABB Robotics R&D, the Mechanical Analysis team configures Manipulators by choosing gears, motors, kinematics and arms and analyzing them with FEM. To do even better we constantly evolve our methods to produce faster, more accurate and better-quality products. All the parts of the manipulator must be dimensioned against the loads occurring during motion and to make the best optimized product we must have control over the input for these calculations. In this project you get the chance to do FEM dimensioning in different ways in our manipulators and get the chance to develop the next step. The goal of this thesis is to help develop and prove new concepts of mechanical dimensioning.…
