About this job

Scope and influence The Social Media Manager is responsible for goal setting and executing the growth- and engagement strategy for all Social Media channels towards the target groups defined by the Group Communication Strategy. This includes communication related activities such as. promoting the Volvo Group brand, implementing plans to engage target audiences and establishing productive relationships with key stakeholders and policymakers. The role is about being both a “thinker and doer”. Operationally the job involves tactical content planning, posting and responding as well as content creation and monitoring. Key responsibilities and accountabilities Develop messages, social media content creation and media outreach Understand target audiences and create strategies to effectively engage Work closely with stakeholders to develop content that drive employee engagement Be dedicated to and work in parallel with two of the strategic areas: profitability, thought leader and/or admired employer Work close with the communication directors on respective topic Support Volvo Group content network activities by actively sharing best practices Develop relationships with external key players to maximize exposure (e.g. industry magazines) Order content from suppliers when relevant Required experience and knowledge Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in editorial that combines a long-term agenda and agile ways of working. Preferably from news agencies. Personality: Creative, yet structured, dialogue driven Excellent storytelling skills Excellent copywriting skills; writing for the web and SoMe, native english Basic video and photo skills Good image post-production skills Basic video post-production skills Basic knowledge in cataloging and tagging media (GDPR compliance) Demand/purchasing expertise Networking skills Ability to align content with brand and communication strategy and measure result Ability to work with a variety of digital marketing tools (e.g. SEO, SoMe etc.) Solid business & organizational understanding Deep knowledge in respective Social Media platform from a corporate perspective (algorithm mechanics, campaign management, audience segmentation) Deep knowledge in supporting tools and platforms connected to social media posting Good knowledge in analytics, content planning and campaign execution Required technical, functional and language skills Proficient communication skills. Proficient skills in working with the business interfaces of LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter. Comfortable working with people at all levels. You have a sound understanding of the Volvo Group business and always make sure that you understand the need, preferences and environment of the stakeholders. Fluent in English Solid business & organizational understanding Has a broad experience from working cross-functionally within Volvo Group Persistent and structured approach to secure implementation and long-term results but also a person who have the courage to challenge the status quo.
