About the position Perido are looking for an experienced Senior Test Automation Engineer for our client, one of the largest banks in the Nordic region, operating across the Nordics and providing services to both private individuals and businesses. The position is based at the bank’s office just north of Stockholm. Your daily tasks In this role, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of the platforms and detection capabilities used to prevent financial crime. The environment includes cloud-native data pipelines, rule-based detection, APIs, integrations, and real-time data flows on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who combines strong test automation and data-testing expertise with modern AI-assisted and agentic testing approaches. You will work closely with developers, Business Analysts, Requirement Engineers, and architects to build quality into the development lifecycle rather than treating testing as a separate final step. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain automated tests using Python and/or Java and appropriate test automation frameworks Apply AI-assisted and agentic testing approaches to improve test design, generation, execution, analysis, and maintenance Test data pipelines, ETL processes, data quality, and data transformations across GCP Validate rule-based detection engines and complex business logic used in Financial Crime Prevention Test APIs, integrations, and real-time data flows across distributed systems Define and continuously improve test strategy, regression coverage, integration testing, and end-to-end testing Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and development workflows Ensure AI-generated test assets and results are appropriately reviewed, validated, traceable, and reproducible Identify quality risks early and work closely with the team to resolve them Promote good testing practices and support the wider team in continuously improving quality engineering Your characteristics We are looking for someone who is analytical, proactive and detail-oriented, with a strong sense of responsibility and a genuine interest in quality and continuous improvement. You are comfortable taking initiative, solving complex problems and working independently, while also enjoying close collaboration with others. Qualifications: 8–10+ years of relevant experience in test automation, technical testing, quality engineering, or testing of complex software systems Strong hands-on experience designing and implementing test automation solutions and frameworks Strong programming skills in Python and/or Java, together with good SQL knowledge Practical experience with AI-assisted or agentic testing, including the use of AI or agents within the software testing lifecycle Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform, preferably including technologies such as BigQuery, Bigtable, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, and Composer Strong experience in data, ETL, and data quality testing Experience testing rule-based systems, decision engines, or complex business logic Good understanding of APIs, system integrations, CI/CD, and end-to-end testing Strong analytical and systems-thinking skills, with the ability to understand relationships between data, technology, business requirements, and controls A proactive, delivery-focused mindset, with the ability to take ownership and work effectively in a cross-functional agile team Strong communication and documentation skills A B.Sc., M.Sc., Ph.D., or equivalent relevant education and professional experience Advantageous: Experience within banking, Financial Crime Prevention, transaction monitoring, compliance, or another regulated environment Experience applying AI-enabled development or testing tools in professional software engineering ISTQB or similar testing certification Google Cloud certification Requirements Engineering certification, such as REQB or equivalent Contract type and hours Full-time consulting assignment until 2027-12-31.
