Junior Research Engineer - Ventilation

Do you want to help develop the ventilation solutions of the future mining industry? We are now looking for a Junior Research Engineer in ventilation to join our operations in Kiruna. In this role, you will work closely with both operations and development, focusing on creating a safe, efficient, and sustainable mining environment. Your role In this role, you will work both practically and analytically with mine ventilation, contributing to a safe working environment both underground and on the surface. Your work will include conducting ventilation measurements such as airflow, pressure, temperature, humidity, and contaminants, followed by analysis and reporting of results. You will also work with ventilation modelling in Ventsim and take part in studies related to airflow distribution, heat, fire safety, and other environmental factors. In addition, you will participate in projects and contribute to the continuous development and improvement of our operations. What you bring You are a structured and analytical person with a strong commitment to health and safety. You enjoy a role where you can combine hands-on work with analytical tasks, and you collaborate effectively with different teams and functions. In addition, we expect you to have: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mining engineering or another relevant field Experience in mine ventilation, particularly related to underground measurements Good knowledge of MS Office Fluency in English, both spoken and written A valid B driver´s license It is considered a plus if you also have: Experience with data analysis tools and ventilation modelling Experience in working and studying in multicultural settings Knowledge of Swedish What we offer In addition to the general benefits — which you can find a bit further down — we can also offer you, who currently do not live in Sweden, the following: Relocation support for you and your family.
