About the Role You will join a specialized surface treatment environment within the automotive industry, where analysis and verification are central to product quality. The team works across a broad technical area that spans corrosion, exterior paint systems, sealing materials, sound damping materials and body adhesives. In this role, you will focus on coatings, adhesives and sealants, planning and executing analyses and tests on metal and plastic substrates as well as different coating systems. The work combines laboratory analysis, methodical testing and close collaboration with stakeholders across multiple system areas. You will also support production when issues arise and help turn test results into clear conclusions and recommendations. Job DescriptionYou will plan, perform and report analyses and tests within coating, adhesive and sealant systems. You will work hands-on with metal and plastic substrates and evaluate different surface treatment and coating solutions. You will use laboratory instruments and test equipment to generate reliable results and support technical decisions. You will collaborate with internal customers and system areas globally, building strong working relationships across the organization. You will support production with analysis when disturbances occur and contribute to a quality-focused way of working. You will help develop testing and analysis capability within the team through structured, well-documented work. RequirementsB.Sc in Chemistry or Materials Engineering Good theoretical knowledge and practical experience in the surface treatment area Experience in testing and lab environment Fluent in English, written and spoken Volvo Cars require that an adequate background check has been completed prior to the start of the assignment, meaning that you, as the supplier, must have conducted the requested level/-s of background check as soon as possible after your candidate has been chosen for the assignment.
