Electromechanical Technical Engineer - Switzerland

You will develop and implement electromechanical systems for the manufacture and assembly of high-temperature superconducting (HTS) magnets, as part of an ongoing research and development (R&D) programme. Your work will involve coil winding and assembly, instrumentation and tooling, bringing together mechanical, electrical and control technologies. Your responsibilities: - Design and implement dedicated systems to produce high-temperature superconductor-based (HTS) coils, considering mechanical, electrical and control aspects, according to applicable safety regulations and industry standards. - Conduct regular maintenance of machinery, electromechanical systems and technical infrastructure in the HTS magnet laboratory. - Prepare technical documentation, including procedures, test and measurement reports, and ensure traceability of components. - Coordinate component logistics and stock for assigned assemblies; initiate and follow up manufacturing requests and purchase orders. - Perform or organise acceptance tests for manufactured components and assemblies. Your profile: - Hands-on experience in design and manufacture, assembly and maintenance of complex electromechanical equipment. - Experience with quality documentation, including working with procedures, compiling tests and measurements reports and component traceability. - Experience with computer-aided design (CAD) tools for electromechanical design would be an asset. - Previous experience with superconducting systems would be an asset. - Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience in the field of Electro-mechanical Engineering or a related field. Your skills: - Design of electromechanical systems. - Construction, test and installation of electromechanical equipment and systems. - Operation and maintenance of electromechanical equipment and systems. - Knowledge of electrical machine technology. - Assembly of mechanical structures and equipment. - Works well in groups and readily fits into a team; participates fully and takes an active role in team activities. - Takes responsibility for own actions and decisions. - Adapts quickly and resourcefully to shifting priorities and requirements. - Listens actively to others and lets others speak. - Produces workable and timely solutions that meet requirements. - Spoken and written English or French, with a commitment to learn the other language. Employment conditions: - A valid driving licence. - Work in radiation controlled areas. - Interventions in underground installations.
