Le rôle du barman / barmaid est d’accueillir et conseiller la clientèle, préparer et servir des boissons simples ou des cocktails élaborés, préparer et servir des amuses bouches et planches (charcuterie, fromages…). Il / elle assure l'animation du bar (musique, happy hour, animation …), procède à la facturation et à l'encaissement des consommations. Il / elle gère l'approvisionnement et le stock du bar et de la cave à vin. Enfin, il / elle veille à la propreté de son bar et de la salle.
