These compliant materials accommodate variations in part dimensions, surface conditions, and manufacturing imperfections, thereby ensuring a reliable seal. The primary objective is to prevent leakage, and standardized laboratory test procedures are commonly used to evaluate new sealing designs. However, prototyping under realistic conditions is often time-consuming, and the resulting tests frequently yield binary outcomes: pass or fail.
