Project Description Reliable polymer material models are essential for simulation-driven product development. Conventional material characterization requires separate specimens for tension, compression, relaxation, cyclic loading, and other load cases, while differences in molding conditions, material flow, cooling history, and specimen geometry can introduce unwanted variation between tests. This project aims to develop a single, process-controlled, injection-molded specimen that enables several mechanical load cases, thereby producing more consistent experimental datasets and reducing uncertainty caused by specimen-to-specimen variation.
