Role overview: We are looking for an experienced Construction Manager to oversee the safe, efficient and high-quality delivery of complex construction projects. This role would suit a construction professional with a strong technical foundation and experience delivering major building or civil engineering projects within live, operational or logistically challenging environments. Key Responsibilities Project Delivery Lead the planning, coordination and delivery of construction activities in accordance with the agreed programme, budget and quality requirements. Develop, review and actively manage construction programmes, identifying opportunities to improve sequencing, productivity and overall delivery. Plan site activities in detail, establish clear milestones and accurately forecast completion dates. Monitor progress against programme and implement recovery measures where activities are at risk of delay. Site and Subcontractor Management Provide daily leadership and direction to site teams, engineering resources, subcontractors and direct labour. Manage subcontractor performance against programme, quality, safety and commercial expectations. Coordinate labour, materials, plant, access and site logistics to support efficient delivery. Review short-term programmes, method statements, risk assessments and resource requirements. Health, Safety and Environment Champion a strong health, safety and environmental culture across the project. Ensure construction activities comply with company procedures, project requirements and applicable legislation. Review and contribute to Risk Assessments and Method Statements, Project Management Plans and Construction Phase Plans. Ensure required permits, licences and approvals are in place before work begins. Quality Management Ensure works are completed in accordance with approved designs, specifications, inspection plans and quality standards. Manage inspection and test plans, hold-point inspections and quality records. Identify, record and support the closure of non-conformance reports. Design and Technical Coordination Work closely with design teams to resolve queries and ensure information is available in line with the construction programme. Review construction information for buildability, coordination and sequencing. Raise and manage Requests for Information and support the timely resolution of technical issues. Coordinate engineering, structural, envelope, civils, landscaping and building-services interfaces as applicable to the project. Commercial and Contractual Support Work closely with the commercial team to monitor project performance and provide accurate progress information. Support the identification, assessment and management of changes to the works. Maintain records that support commercial reporting, forecasting and change control. Review material, plant and labour requirements, supporting accurate cost and resource planning. Identify delivery risks and opportunities and escalate them to the relevant project leadership team. Contribute to regular project reporting covering programme, cost, quality, safety and key risks. Candidate profile: You will be able to demonstrate: Significant experience in construction or civil engineering project delivery. Experience working as a Construction Manager, Site Manager, Package Manager or in a comparable construction leadership position. A strong understanding of construction programming, sequencing, logistics and resource planning. Experience managing subcontractors and multidisciplinary site teams. Strong knowledge of health, safety, environmental and quality-management requirements. Experience reviewing Risk Assessments and Method Statements and contributing to construction-management documentation.
