The Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) Overseas & Training is seeking a motivated and reliable Estate Services Assistant to join our team at Camp CLOCKWORK in Bardufoss. This is an exciting opportunity supporting the facilities and infrastructure that enable UK Defence activity in Norway. No two days are the same, and the role offers a mix of estate inspections, contractor liaison, facilities support, and site management responsibilities. Salary and Working Hours Grade: S3 Hours: 37.5 hours per week Salary: Starting at 40,445 NOK per month, rising to 58,560 NOK through annual incremental progression MOD salaries are set in accordance with established pay scales and are not negotiable. About the Role Working closely with the Site Estate Manager (SEM), you will help ensure the safe, effective, and efficient operation of Camp CLOCKWORK's buildings and infrastructure. Key responsibilities include: Conducting inspections of buildings and site infrastructure, both indoors and outdoors, identifying faults, damage, or maintenance requirements. Monitoring and reporting defects and coordinating repairs with contractors and trades personnel. Escorting contractors and visitors who require access to the camp and technical areas. Supporting building maintenance activities, including routine checks of sanitary systems and facilities. Monitoring fire alarm systems while on duty. Collecting post and assisting with basic translation of documents and invoices. Ensuring access to all required areas across the site. Maintaining accurate records of inspections, defects, and corrective actions. What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who is: ✅ Practical and proactive ✅ Organised and dependable ✅ Comfortable working independently ✅ Able to work outdoors in a challenging climate ✅ Flexible and willing to participate in on-call or out-of-hours duties when required Essential Requirements Good written and spoken English and Norwegian Valid driving licence Competent user of standard office IT systems Understanding of basic health and safety principles Ability to produce accurate records and reports Desirable Previous experience in facilities management, estates management, maintenance coordination, or a similar role Previous facilities management experience is welcomed but not essential. We are more interested in finding someone with the right attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn.
