Im Allgemeinen Maschinenbau dreht sich alles um die Entwicklung und Produktion von Maschinen, Anlagen und technischen Produkten. Das Studium ist breit angelegt: Du lernst die Grundlagen der Mechanik, Thermodynamik, Konstuktionslehre, Werkstoff- und Fertigungstechnik. Ein weiteres wesentliches Element ist die Informatik – von Anfang an arbeitest du mit modernen Programmen, beispielsweise zur Konstruktion am Computer (CAD) oder für technische Simulationen. Auf dieser breit angelegten Grundlage baut die Studienrichtung Allgemeiner Maschinenbau auf und ermöglicht Vertiefungen in den Bereichen Fahrzeugtechnik, Konstruktion und Entwicklung, Mechatronik sowie Leichtbau.
